Thanks so much guys continually checking out my blog. Especially considering I have not been promoting my blog at all, which is going to change. I have already reserved social media with the "simply avalon" name and I will begin posting on them daily. If you're interested in updates of any sort check out my social media. Which I've now decided to be active on. :)

Also, if you've noticed I have begun to stop posting on Mondays this is all for a reason. Other than obligations like soccer I have been in the process of giving this blog a revamp. If you have any color suggestions or any helpful comments on how I can improve this blog I would love to hear so.

März 6, 2016 [h.s. entry 1]

I really debated on actually posting this considering the major repercussions of someone from my school reading it and possibly telling the person(s) involved I was writing about them, but if you're reading this then I finally talked myself into sucking up what could end in major embarrassment for me.

[Disclaimer: All people involved in the following real life story have had their names changed so as not to have an awkward confrontation since I still go to this school with the one person involved]

It all started with a microwave...which in my opinion is a weird way to start any type of friendship, but it's where our paths happened to cross. I was in the process of warming up a slice of pizza for lunch and he was also warming up his lunch. Since I didn't have a plate of any sort he offered to warm my pizza up along with his lunch.

For all intents and purposes I will call "him" Ben and a little background he's a German student apart of the Mercedes program at my school.

While our food was warming up Ben decided to try and strike up a conversation with me, which is how I found out we both started soccer at the tender age of 4. Also that we were both kind of awkward in conversations almost as if we were scared of saying the wrong thing (which honestly I was).

I like to consider him one of my best guy friend(s) on the soccer team and ever since that one meeting we always try and talk in the hallway. Whether that be a hello and smile from him or comments about him always wearing either vans to school from me. Skip past a few weeks and I learn we basically played the same position on our teams. (At least until recently.)

Personally it's the small things that most people won't even take account of that matter to me in a friendship. Anyone can know (or guess) that I love pizza, but only a trusted few know that it's only been a year since I had digestive problems that prevented me from eating any form of dairy products.

Small things like giving me a blue powerade because I didn't want a purple one even when he wasn't traveling back home on the bus with the team. Something that I would've been killed for had it been my family since it was already so late.

The only problem is that over this period of time I've grown to like Ben which is incredibly weird considering I know he will be moving back to Germany in August. I find that I'm no longer able to act normal around him even with something as simple as asking him to take a picture with me after both our soccer teams won. I guess you could say I have a crush on him which I know in hindsight is probably something I'll be able to laugh at. My life could be a soap opera I mean look at me stressing about a relationship I never had, but won't stop thinking about.

Honestly it's so great to take this off my chest. I like these types of posts because I know that no one (I hope) from my school actually reads this and I can truly be open and let everything I am thinking about be let out into the open. By the off chance you're actually interested in my life and the onslaught of lifestyle posts I have been publishing recently don't worry I'll keep you updated on any new developments.

XX,

P.S. by the ill chance someone from my school is actually reading this, I'm sure you know exactly who I'm talking about. I mean it's not as if I mention him any chance I get. :)

As you guys know I have been inactive on YouTube for the past 2 months which was purely incidental. I've already described the reasons behind my absence in my latest youtube video which is here.

Thankfully I am going to be active from now on and I am going to start another new series on this blog on how to balance school life, youtube, soccer, and blogging. It seems like I am starting new series left and right, but I promise I have a plan. There is a reason behind my madness. Stay tuned for my posts on Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays to see when the first post airs. Which brings me to my next point my High School Diary series will begin this Friday so if you're interested in my life check out that post.

XX,

Somehow I've figured out more content for this blog. What  in the world are you talking about Avalon? Oh nothing other than a "high school diary entry" which I will write once a week. I'm really excited about this because not only will you get a better look into my life ,but I'll also have something online that I can look back on and say "Hey, kids I use to be more awkward than this..." Sorry this was such a short update, but I'm really excited about this news.

All blog posts marked with a [h.s. entry #--] will be considered apart of this brand new series on my blog. I'm still debating on whether this will be a full-time deal as in for the rest of my highschool career or something shorter like the remainder of freshmen year. How about you shoot me a comment on what you would prefer?

Also how happy are ya'll that I'm sticking to my updating schedule? I'm really hoping that this will allow my blog's readership to grow because you guys now know exactly when I post.

XX,

Everyone needs a little inspiration for spring break whether your travelling to  New York (lucky you) or New Orleans like em we all need a little packing help. Which is why I have created two outfits on polyvore to hopefully give you some ideas on what to pack for wherever you travel.

Remember how a week or so ago I was talking about my soccer team losing? It's really funny how our God works. A complete turn around can happen at any time. We went from losing 2 games in a row to winning 6 matches 5 of which were shutouts. Not only have we secured the number 1 seat in our region we've clinched the region. God worked a complete turnaround for our team.
In other news my team played another 2 back to back games and finally we get a break. That's right it's spring break!! (Although I'm still not necessarily sure yet if it's a good thing.)

Don't worry I will still update like normal on this blog throughout the week, but expect at least one picture of me in pajamas enjoying a "netflix no chill" type of day. Is it bad that now I am 2 hours into my spring break vacation I am bored because I have nothing to do? I think it's because I like a structured schedule and feeling like I am achieving something daily. I am still trying to persuade my dad to buy me a new video editing software (Adobe Premiere) if you have any suggestions I'd really appreciate because I really want to restart my YouTube channel.

XX,

This has been in the works for a very long while. I am finally going to have a posting schedule. I've decided that will post at least 2 times a week.

  •  On Mondays I will post my beauty/fashion or lifestyle posts
  • Any type of updates like the one I am writing now will be posted on Wednesdays
  • Lifestyle posts will be on Friday

Meaning I will now be posting around 3 times a week. Sorry that this is technically going against the schedule by posting an update on Monday, but hey it is what it is.

XX,

This post has been on my heart for awhile. As your die hard glasses wearer since 3rd grade I guess you can say I know a thing or two about the stereotypes with wearing glasses.

This post comes a "de-bunker" for all for you non-glasses wearers who probably believed at least one of these 10 things at one point of your life.

Disclaimer: This post was not made to be taken seriously but as a comic relief. My views are probably not shared by all glasses wearers around the world. :)

1. "Can you see without your glasses?"
Yes, we can see, I promise we are not blind. Glasses are meant to increase our eyesight to 20/20 meaning we need glasses either to see things clearer or things that are foggy when farther away.

2. "What do you do when it's raining?"
I dry them off... I don't even know why this question bothers me so much, but as someone who's worn glasses for 7 full years you'd think I wouldn't have to answer some of these questions anymore. Believe me though when I say glasses wearers everywhere would rush to buy a slip-on "windshield wiper" ;)

3. "Why don't you get contacts?"
If I had a dollar for every time I heard this one I'd be a millionaire. As a glasses wearer this one question in particular annoys me. Don't you think I know about contacts. My personal preference is glasses, I have tried contacts and I kid you not it was a struggle to put them in and take them out. Although glasses may not give me the flexibility of not having plastic in-front of my eyes it gives me something contacts could never do, a fashion statement.

4. "Are you okay?"
Now this one is more for those who play in sports like soccer where you can get your glasses knocked off...very easily. This is definitely one of my personal pet peeves considering it is very polite to ask someone if they are okay after knocking their glasses off, If there is one things an athlete never wants to see is a metaphorical crutch given to them when it is not needed. I can be just as aggressive as a contacts wearer or normal person who does not need glasses.

5. "Can I try them on?"
This is almost as bad as people asking to touch my hair. Um do I ask to try on your shoes? No, than don't ask to try my glasses.

6. *tries glasses* "Man your eyesight must be really bad,"
No, doofus you have perfect eyesight and therefore do not need a device that brings my eyes to 20/20 vision.

"Are your glasses real?"
Do you think I'd be wearing them if they weren't? Yes, my glasses are real.
7. Oh you look so much like *insert name of celebrity who happens to wear glasses*

8. "Does that make you a geek?"
Maybe I'm the only one who has heard such a stereotypical phrase (mainly from my little brother who really just doesn't know any better). Anyone can need glasses from your run-of-the-mill jock to your gamer. There is no one "box" that glasses wearers fit in.

9. That moment you notice your glasses are dirty...

10. The struggle that is makeup...

Hope you enjoyed this post, because I had a lot of fun finding gifs for it. Stay tuned for an update on Wednesday. Believe me when I say it'll be totally worth it.

XX,

If you're anything like me February means awards shows from the Brits (my personal favorite) to the Oscars which was just last night. Unless you live under a rock that is far away from twitter or any other social media you've heard that Leonardo DiCaprio finally got his Oscar.
That's right we milked the Leonard without an Oscar memes for all it was worth, but all good things must come to an end. Here's one of my personal favorites.

Incase you missed the Oscars completely Chris Rock was a host whose monologues were speckled with harmless "racist" jokes towards the all white Oscar nomination.
In other news Mad Max:Fury Road won basically every technical award from it's much deserved Best Costume design to Best Sound Mixing. Basically I probably should've actually paid attention when that movie was still in theatres.

The Oscars also had featured performances by the Weeknd, Sam Smith, and Lady GaGa. My favorite being Sam Smith's, "Writing's on the Wall" and Lady GaGa's heart wrenching performance of "Til it Happens to You".

In the end I hope you recorded the 88th Academy Awards on dvr.
With much love,
