Today I say goodbye to sophomore year and hello to the responsibility that comes with being a junior.

I say hello to the second half of high school and the beginning of my quest for the "right college".
I say hello to my 16th birthday and (hopefully) my driver's license.
I say hello to AP class work and a new fount of knowledge to conquer.
I say hello to new found interests I haven't fully developed yet and hobbies I will grow to love.
I say hello the friendships and relationships I have not yet had.
I say hello the possibilities that the unknown holds.

I wish I could end this poem here, but I would be lying if I said that the closing of this school year did not bring with it an onslaught of goodbyes.

Today I say goodbye to the friends who are leaving TA.

To the seniors know that you will forever be ingrained in my heart and mind and that you will be missed. I wish you all the luck in the world, because I know that each and every one of you have the power to change the world.

To the sophomores who say hello to a new high school this coming year I say goodbye. I will miss the laughs and inside jokes we had, but hold onto the hope that we will still stay in touch.

To some of my favorite Germans I wish I could keep you here with me forever. Clara you're going to change the world one assist a a time, and Kim don't forget to keep me updated...we gotta keep our streak going. I can't wait til we are reunited again, but until that time bis später!

Today I say goodbye to one of my favorite teachers.
Kettles, Mr. K, Kettlewell you were one of the first teachers I grew to love at TA and I will honestly miss seeing you walk the hallways.

Today I say goodbye to the headmaster who believed in me and the man who helped make my dream of going to TA a reality. I still can't believe that the last day of school has crept up on us this quickly! Thank you for your role in helping me to become the woman I am today.

Today I say goodbye to a counselor who's wisdom and encouragement propelled me past many of the challenges I faced this year. To you I say thank you.

Today I say goodbye to the relationships that withered and to the ones that died.

I can't believe that this chapter has come to a close, but I truly can't wait to see the memories that will be written junior year.

In the aftermath of my "infamous" favorite music/singers video - I thought it was time to go ahead and update you guys on my favorite Christian worship songs. Anyone who knows me personally knows that I have numerous playlist and am nearly updating one daily. Which is why I decided to go ahead and open up my personal Christian playlist for your viewing (and listening) pleasure.

Some of my favorite bands and singers include Elevation Worship, Israel Houghton, Hillsong United/Young Free, and Brian Courtney Wilson. Surprisingly I include no Lecrae songs because they just don't fit my style of worship although they are a great alternative to typical "hype" music.

Without further ado here they are:

I don't know about you, but when it comes to cooking I want a few things. I want the item to be cheap, easy, and delicious - lucky for me the pizza bagel recipe I created embodied each of these characteristics! Pizza bagels are a super easy thing to make and can literally be changed into whatever type of pizza you could think of. The recipe I have below is super basic but can be customized to fit your eating needs. These pizza bagels tend to keep for at least a week and can be frozen if wanted.

Shopping List:

1 Plain Bagel
 Spaghetti or Pizza Sauce
1/4 c. Cheese (sprinkled on top)
 Additional Toppings opt.
Butter opt.

Recipe

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Butter one plain bagel then place as much sauce ontop of the bagel's surface.
  3. Add the 1/4 cup of cheese generously on top of the bagel. (I used two different types of cheese, but this is optional)
  4. Add toppings.
  5. Place bagel onto pan and bake in oven for 10-20 minutes or until crisp.
  6. Allow to cool before eating.
In case you couldn't follow my directions here is a video I uploaded earlier on my youtube channel that shows me going through the process of making these pizza bagels. Hope you enjoyed!

Hey guys! It's been awhile since I last updated this blog.
Mostly because:
  1. s c h o o l || - I'm sure that most students would agree that as soon as school returns from spring break vacation the rest of year seems to crash down on you. Honestly, I've been swamped with a billion things at once mainly from the various clubs I participate in. From Key Club to journalism I've been dragged in so many different directions.
  2. s o c c e r || - By the time this post goes up I would have completed my sophomore year soccer season. Even though I love soccer and have played it for my whole life I can't deny that it is a major time commitment. I practice after school til 5:30 after school every day and that's if I don't have a game.
  3. y o u t u b e || - I've really tried to refocus my attention on YouTube mainly because I finally hit the 400 subscriber mark meaning that I am coming very close to reaching my original goal of 500 by the end of the year.
  4. j o b || - I am currently in the works of creating a side business that would include blog consulting - specifically geared towards those just starting out. I have been working on some freebies that I will release on this blog along with a few other surprises that I will roll out this summer. I'm honestly super excited about what the future holds, but like always I don't want to talk to soon in case it falls through. I am also in the works to get a job this summer at a local cafe which would offer me great job experience and a chance to get more life experience.
Now with that all being said I know that isn't an excuse for not posting, but don't worry I plan on making a few changes from here on out. I can't devote alot of time to my blog during the month of May so I plan on pre-writing a few pieces just so that I can enjoy the last week that I will have with the seniors and in my sophomore year.

On another note though I am so ready for summer. Although I am sad to say that my summer calendar is already being dotted with numerous trips and summer homework. But before we can even think about summer we gotta make it through another season. Look out for next week's post which will include some inspiration to get you through spring.

Where has the time gone? Can you believe that Mother's day is this weekend? In case you procrastinated in buying your mom a gift don't worry about it I got you covered! Check out my list below for 10 great cost-effective gift ideas for your mom.

1. Spa Day

    via GIPHY
Honestly, this gift idea is super open and can be changed to fit any mother and any budget. For instance, you can DIY a spa gift basket and all you'd have to buy are the items that would go into the basket. You could also buy your mother a gift card to a spa located in her area or better yet buy two so that you can enjoy the day with her.

2. Gift Card

    via GIPHY

Gift cards seem to be a taboo in the gifting world, but in my opinion, it can be the best gift ever IF you plan it out properly. This is where your personal knowledge of your mother comes handy. For instance, if you know that your mom loves to workout then maybe get her a gift card for Academy's or if you know that she loves to go out with friends to the movies then buy her a gift card for the movie theater. Just like my first gift idea this one is very much open to interpretation.

3. Food

via GIPHY
This can be anything from a gift card to a fancy restaurant to actual homemade cookies. I personally believe that this is one of the easiest and cheapest options at least for those working on a high schooler's (or college student's) budget.

4. Picture and Frame

via GIPHY
Another cute idea that is super simple is getting a picture made of you and your mother than having it framed. Not only is this a simple git, but it shows that you took the time (and money) to actually get the picture printed and fitted for a frame.

5. Monogrammed Items

via GIPHY
This may just be a southern thing, but I think that nearly is everything can be improved by a monogram. This also gives you loads of options for you can monogram nearly anything. A few ideas that come to mind are blankets, towels, wallets, cell phone cases, and t-shirts.

6. Jewelry

via GIPHY
Jewelry is such an easy gift idea mostly because you only need to have an understanding of your mother's taste to buy something that she would like. In case you have no idea what your mother likes in terms of jewelry though I suggest that you stick to something simple and minimalistic that can be worn daily or something that features your mother's birthstone.

7. Exercise Clothing/Equipment

via GIPHY
Many people enjoy exercising whether it be walking, jogging, hiking, or even swimming. This is why I believe it is such a great gift. If you know your mother's size you can actually buy her some workout clothes, but if you don't no worries buy her some exercise equipment instead. This can be anything from weights to a yoga mat. This can even translate into a month long gym membership paid for by you.

8. Sleepwear

via GIPHY
More often then not your mother has probably wanted some sleepwear but just chose not to ask. If you want to go the extra mile though you could get said pajamas monogrammed.

9. Card

via GIPHY
Cards like gift cards have gotten a bad rap in the gifting word probably because it doesn't take much effort to buy a hallmark card, but what if you went ahead and made a totally original card yourself. Not only would your mom know that it came from the heart, but it is also super cheap for those working on a high schooler's budget. Plus there are multiple tutorials on various websites (including my youtube channel) that have videos on how to make cute diy cards for whatever the occasion. Just please don't be that person who sends an e-card because you forgot.

10. Peace & Quiet

via GIPHY
If nothing else help your mom relax by doing her daily to-do list and giving her the day off. Don't ask her to do anything and just allow her to enjoy a day of peace and quiet.
Want some additional ideas? Check out the video I posted for last year. :)

It's been a short while since I last posted on my blog, but sometimes school and life gets in the way. Hopefully, this post will serve as a small appetizer at least until I have time to write a full update on my life. An update that should be ready to be published on this blog within the next few weeks.

As you can tell from the title, this post will be about my prom experience. I decided that I wanted to start with how I got asked just to give you some background on the entire arrangement.

I decided that I wanted to try and make this post as neat and coherent as possible mainly because the thought of prom gives me a bout of butterflies. Anywho I decided to separate each specific point on the "timeline" with a header so you can skip to

...flashback...

Ever since starting high school last year and playing on the soccer team at this said school, I've been best friends with Julia. That year she was a junior and we made plans towards the end of the season to try and make sure I got to go to her senior prom since it would be her last prom. She wanted to try and get this guy who was

...the proposal...

I was at soccer practice and his sister actually played a hand in it working out so smoothly. She asked me to help her take some things to her car, an event that honestly was not out of the ordinary since we were such great friends. Instead of taking things to the trunk though I was met by her brother who slid a soccer ball in my direction that said: "Do you want to roll with me to prom?" I would insert a picture, but I'm not sure he would approve so I'll hold off on that for the time being and just cut him out.

...the prep game...

Now, normally girls plan months in advance for prom and dances in general. Mostly because it takes a lot of time and effort to get everything together from the dress to the flowers, to dinner, to pictures. Everything has to be planned out so that the night can go smoothly. Well unlike all of the juniors and seniors who had all of this time to plan, me being the unassuming sophomore was given a grand total of 3 weeks to get ready.

Now you may think that this sounds like a good amount of time, but try finding a prom dress in your size that will need minimal altering when nearly every school in your town is having prom on or near the day of your own prom. As you can probably imagine it was chaotic. I had to go to no less than a dozen stores. It took me an hour just to find out my size mainly because a certain sales-rep was not truthful about how a dress fit me. Any who I ended up finding the dress at Saks and got it altered with no problem since a family friend was willing to do it on short notice. And by short notice, I mean in 3 days.

My date was also nice enough to buy both of our flowers since his sister convinced him that they had to match in color and detail. (This was something I was happy not to argue with.) He also took care of food and photography after my prodding.

...the night before...

Since this wasn't "my prom" I didn't really have anyone to get ready with. A detail that made me sort of sad, but things started to look up around this time because my team had won their soccer game that week and some of my friends were going to get ready at my house for prom because they had to take pictures for yearbook. I ended up only doing my nails and getting a facial done the night before prom a detail you will see on my youtube video.

...PROM?!...

My friend, Shannon came over and blessed me by bringing over her large makeup stash so that I could "play" with it. We ended up coming up with a sparkly pink smokey eye to match my dress and honestly, I don't know how it could have come out any better than it did. I'll go ahead and link my YouTube video below and also leave some pictures just so you can get a full picture of my prom.

One of the hardest things to do each year is preparing for exams and with Spring Break out of the way they are just around the corner. I personally believe that studying wasn't meant to be hard. For with work & preparation you too can not only be ready for an exam, but ace it too! If you're interested in my tips to acing your midterms or final exams check out my latest video on YouTube. :)

When I spotted this palette at my local Ulta I just knew I had to buy it. The only reason I hadn't gotten it before was because it was only available online. The price of this product is normally $14.50 (US), but I bought this for $11 with a coupon.  This product includes 10 shadows ranging from mattes to shimmers and four highlighters that can grow in warmth as you go across. The shadows range from matte to shimmer and are all centered around an earthy color palette. Along with the shadows and highlighters this palette includes a nice sized mirror. (No brush of any kind was included.)
First Row of shadows (left to right)
This first row of shadows really did not look great when swatched, but when I tried them out on my actual eyelids, they looked better. (Especially the cranberry shade.) All of the shadows felt nice and had a dry creamy feel (if that makes sense), they did all have a little fall out which I expected since this wasn't from the "best of the best" brand wise.
Second row of shadows (left to right)
The second row of shadows on the other hand really impressed me, especially the gorgeous golden bronze shade. I truly did not expect the pigmentation that came from this shadow. I only have a few cons when it comes to the shadows overall.

  1. There was a good bit of fall out when I put my brush in the pan to get out some product. My best solution is to spray your brush with either Mac Fix+ or some water just to get the shadow to stick.
  2. Some of the pigment fell beneath my eyelid and onto my face even with a primer. Really the only way you can avoid this problem is by doing your eye makeup before your actual face makeup so that you can wipe off any excess without problem.
  3. It creases after a few hours of wear*. I have tried different primers, but nothing seems to change the fact that some of these shadows (mostly the shimmers) seem to crease after 3ish hours. If you have any suggestions please leave them below. (*this may be because I have oily lids)

Third row of highlighters (left to right)
Now for what some of you have been waiting for. These highlighters are beyond gorgeous. I will not shy away from the fact that I bought this palette for the sole purpose of trying out Carli Bybel's highlighters. Not only did these blend nicely into the skin, for the most part they lasted throughout the day. Now do keep in mind that if you are interested in having these highlighters and shadows to last for a day that goes beyond 8ish hours, I recommend using a primer and a makeup spray just to add on to the product's longevity.

Overall this product works very well, especially for the price which in my opinion is very cheap. Even with the small creasing problem, I'd totally say that you should check this palette out. The pigmentation is pretty great and the highlighters stand out, plus everything blends well.

If you are interested in real time swatches check out my YouTube video which is linked here and at the top of this post.

*FTC: Some afflate links are used, but I purchased all products with my own dinero. :)*
As we close in on the last month of school specifically my sophomore year I find it increasingly hard to keep myself from getting nostalgic. This past week my soccer team had its senior night, it was at this moment that everything hit. All of my friends I had made last year who were juniors were about to graduate, the bonds I had made with most of the players on my soccer team would be dissolved since many of them were either graduating or moving to a different school in our city. Basically, I was facing something that many Americans and fellow human beings feel at least once in their lives -- the fear of change.

You see this feeling isn't new to me, in fact, I felt something similar when I first moved to high school in the first place. The fear of moving to someplace new and not fitting in. The fear of not seeing friends I had seen nearly daily for the majority of my elementary and middle school years. The fear that I would now be a loner.

But this time my fear has morphed and taken on a new shape. Looking back it's funny really for I'm constantly planning for my future. Planning out where I would like to go to college, where I'd like to settle down, who I'd like to marry etc. Now I'm just "rushing" to stop the time so that I can enjoy and cherish the relationships I've made today.

I always looked to the future asking God to speed up the time so that I can go ahead and get my driver's license or so that I can see whether I make it into Yale or not. Now though I see that time isn't something I want to speed up, because once these moments are gone, they are gone forever.

Looking at my fashion slide I realized that it's been a moment since I've posted some outfit ideas. Which is why I decided to go ahead and post a video blog post on some of my favorite outfits to wear in the winter. This was such a fun video to film and edit! Hope you enjoy watching it!

n o s t a l g i a

Looking back at the past year and a half, it's hard to not feel nostalgic. I mean I am a high school sophomore nearing the start of those final two years of the "act" called high school. It's hard to believe really that I have grown so much since when I first created this blog in eighth grade because of a coding ability started on the oddest platform ever - wattpad.
Since I haven't published one in awhile I thought that it was only right to fill you in on some of the details of my life. (Especially since I left you on a cliff hanger with my last "h.s. diary" post, but so much has happened and to say the least life has gotten in the way of me sitting down and writing a post as personal as this one.) Nevertheless here I am giving you the update of a lifetime on the busyness that is my life.

h i g h  s c h o o l

This past semester my school has seen a large growth in students. Since I go to a private school that tries to cap grade levels at 50 it's quite uncommon to see any one grade come close to that mark, but like what I've come to find out about everything school related. Nothing is too out of the ordinary especially for the class graduating in 2019 (aka my grade). Not only are we nearing that 50 student limit, but we are easily the largest grade in the whole upper/high school. With this being said you would expect that at least a few of these new students would end up in at least one of my classes. Somehow I underestimated the power of scheduling because timing is everything, especially when it comes to friends and relationships.

For instance if my counselor had allowed me to drop art for journalism I would've never met one of my closest friends. Or if one of my best friends hadn't been sick this past Friday, I would've never had a one-on-one conversation with a person who has quickly become a favorite of mine in chemistry. (Let's try to ignore how ironic it is that I have chemistry with a guy in my chemistry class.)

At the same time though I can't ignore the negative impact time has had on some of my relationships. For instance one of my first friends at my school no longer talks to me because of new friends she found at basketball. Or the fact that after this school year my "group" will probably split up since the person who has always held us together is moving to another school.

l o v e

I try not to avoid the use of this word mainly because in the end it is a choice you make and the consequences of reciprocated (or unreciprocated) love is yours to hold alone, but after having a "heart-to-heart" with one of my new favorite people it's hard to not rethink my stance. Before anyone comments that I put my emotions on the line too quickly please realize that despite the title of this section, I am not in love with this person, simply because I don't believe in insta-love, but I can't ignore my attraction to this person.
He transferred to my school at the start of this past semester and has quickly built himself a reputation of being one of the most polite people in the school. He was brought here to play basketball and after watching him practice I have no doubt that he'll do just that. During chemistry we spoke about everything and anything, from the assignment to his transition here, to watching the Grammys. Unsurprisingly he wanted to talk about basketball and soccer. (Quick fact: He and I have both started to play our sports at age 4.)

During English he let me watch funny vine videos and we shared earbuds, an event so small, but special, at least in my opinion. During history we shared jokes and goofed off with some of his friends (plus he gave me his seat so that I could sit with one of my best friends). This past week he wore a turtleneck and I joked that he looked like the Rock (don't ask how I remembered that meme). All of this may not mean anything to you, but to me it meant the world. Could this be another senseless crush? Maybe, but I can't wait to see what happens and where we'll go from here.

P.S. by the ill chance someone from my school is actually reading this, I'm sure you know exactly who I'm talking about. I mean it's not like the whole girl's soccer team teases me about it 24/7. :)

There's no skirting the fact that unrequited love regardless of what side of the coin you're on sucks. I posted a few weeks ago a diary entry, which honestly I was going to take down until I realized that my experience could help someone. Because of my experience in this realm I thought that it would be super helpful to list 6 tips for dealing with unrequited love. I plan on making a YouTube video also, but thought that it would be better received once the situation had died down at school. :)

d i s c l a i m e r:
* I refer to the person in question as "them" and my "(ex)-crush"
* Identities have been purposefully changed to keep the privacy of those involved.
* If you happen to be a person involved reading this...you know that this is my safe place.

1. "It's not YOU, it's THEM"

It took me awhile to understand that I didn't need to change myself to fit the mold my crush seemed to like (which if I'm being super petty was ditsy and blonde). During moments like these it is super important to ask yourself "Why am I trying to force a relationship that God is clearly saying is not meant to be at the present moment?" If you believe that God has a reason for everything, you should have no need to try and open a door that has been closed by Him at this time.

2. It's Normal to Feel Jealous

When I found out that my crush liked one of my best friends, I wanted to hurt not only him, but my friends too who had nothing to do with the situation. I'll be the first to admit that my sadness quickly became anger especially since the guy in question liked two of my good friends. Will I say that jealousy is the right emotion to feel in this situation, no, but will I admit that it is perfectly natural, heck to the yes! Don't ever let anyone tell you that you aren't "feeling correctly". Remember that some things are outside of your control and that you can not force someone else to like you. Also realize that it is okay to go through a "grief" period for what could've been.  (At the same time though make sure to take note of your moods and make sure that a "crush gone wrong" doesn't trigger an emotion much worst than jealousy--depression.)

3.  Don't Make a Rash Decision

In my instance, the guy in question did ask for a certain type of picture (this really should've been red flag #1). An action that I am now super thankful I did not go through with (I'm telling you God blessed me with wisdom on that one). Don't degrade yourself by taking pictures for a person you're not in a relationship with. And if you're like me and decided against doing something that is (totally) against the law for minors don't feel remorse and think that this one event would've changed their feelings. If anything it would've caused them to lose respect for the person you are. Remember that you are treasured in the eyes of God and that this is the only thing that truly matters.

4. Don't Burn the Bridge

I've seen myself give this advice plenty of times to by younger siblings and close friends (and honestly never thought I'd need it myself). Even if you find out later that a relationship with you and another person isn't going to work, it is super important not to burn that bridge.

Which before I go on let me digress and say please do not spread rumors about your ex-crush, 9 times out of 10 they will find out and you will end up looking bad (just from my experience as a bystander).

In my case I go to a high school (a private school at that) and since the person in question is in nearly all of my classes (and probably will be for the rest of my high school career) it would be stupid of me to go out of my way to ruin the relationship.

Do I know who he likes? Yes
Will I continue to be friends with him despite the fact that he doesn't like me? Yes

Don't betray their trust in you because of something they really can't control. This is another one of those times where you have to accept the fact that you can't control the situation. Then again would you really want to force attraction between you and another person? Also remember that this does not mean that things must "go back to the way they were" if you need space or just want to take it back down to from "besties" to acquaintances be my guest. Forgiving does not excuse the fact that your feelings were hurt in the process.

5. Distance Yourself from the Person or Situation

If you happen to be a student or even a person in a small workplace, I totally understand how hard it can be to distance yourself from your (ex)-crush. Since I go to a small private school I dealt with my fair share of this because (as I said in my last diary entry) most of the girl's soccer team thought that me and my crush were dating even though this was far from the truth. This doesn't even count the small things my friends did whenever I happened to be around him in the many classes we shared. To say the least it was painful to go through, but I'm that much stronger because of this. I hate to say it, but if you are in a position like mine it is one of those few times where I had to force myself to "get over it". For me that meant focusing on what really mattered: my relationship with God, my grades, family, soccer, and making sure I scored at least a 30 on the ACT. When you switch your focus to the things that truly matter in life it becomes that much easier to ignore the constant noise in the background.

To clarify: distance doesn't have to mean finding a distraction though, sometimes it can mean taking a social media cleanse or just unfollowing (or ignoring) them on a select few platforms.

Touching back on point #4, deciding not to burn a bridge does not mean that everything goes back to normal. If you feel the need to take a break from texting the person, feel free. In fact it is probably healthier to stay away from them during the time you take to recover from the relationship. Just remember that there is a difference between distance and being petty.

[Word of advice needlessly unfollowing them from every social media platform is petty, but picking the two or three you would see (or be reminded) of them most on is distance.]

6. Treat Yourself

For me that's in the form of good TV, research, and writing. After finding out who my crush liked I proceeded to down a cup of green tea and try to get some sleep (at least before deciding that I was better off writing a blog post on the situation haha) Even if the relationship never got past snapchat it is so important to treat yourself and make sure that you are still mentally okay. This is also where it is so important that you surround yourself with positive people and someone you can confide the situation too (without having to worry about them telling someone else). I can't say enough how much I'm thankful for the friends and mother who sat ad listened me go on-and-on about a relationship that was never became more than a good friendship. Even if you have never been in this position, if a friend has confided in you information anything like mine, let me just thank you for them. Sometimes all it takes to get someone back to their cheery mood is a good laugh.

This is part two of my college tour series! (Can you believe I followed through with a series?) While my family was in North Carolina we decided to visit both Duke and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Earlier this week I talked about my visit to Chapel hill, but now it's time for me to write about my Duke experience. If you're interested in that post check it out here.

In honor of my own school's college tour I decided to go ahead and blog about the schools that I visited this past summer. I do apologize in advance for the slightly random content, but this is what I wanted to show on my blog. :)

I visited 5ish colleges this past summer and found something enjoyable in each and every one of them. My family decided to take a road trip from Alabama to D.C. and decided to stop at various colleges for my own viewing pleasure. Hope you enjoy the insight I learned from visiting each of these colleges and the "insiders advice" I give from meeting with college advisers on their campuses. Without further ado let's get started.

Our first stop was in North Carolina, and I'm sure you can guess the two places we stopped at --Duke and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Both campuses were amazing in the history and educational experiences they offer.

University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

This campus is nothing short of beautiful. We just so happened to arrive just in time for summer graduations and were met with a whole lot of student traffic, but it was still great.

Since we arrived on a weekend (and a graduation weekend at that) we decided to take a self guided tour. Not only did I get to pretend I was a student, but I also got to see a bunch of the cute spots on campus (while of course taking more than my fair share of pictures haha).

This campus has so much history like being the first state university to open its doors because of a constitutional charter or having a plaque that actually recognizes the students who challenged a speaker ban in 1966. (The students wanted to hear from a slightly radical civil liberties activist.)

It also had a large library on campus which  was very gorgeous whiI'm not going to lie warmed me even more to the campus.

The whole campus contained so much history literally in each-and-every nook/cranny. Definitely recommend a visit especially if you're a history buff.

The whole campus was pretty quaint and quiet even with the graduation, and was adorned with well landscaped areas. If I was grading campuses on beauty alone this one would get a definite A!  :)

Are you looking for a slightly sultry makeup look for Valentine's day? Check out my latest video on YouTube before everyone else does!

Do you like to look "all made up" or "au naturale" for Valentine's Day?

Now that I can finally say, "It feels like winter" I'm excited to show you guys my own personal winter aesthetic board. If you keep up with my Pinterest or just watch the side bar on this blog you'd probably know that I recently created a new board on Pinterest which I have been updating recently to include what I believe to be my winter aesthetic this year. If you happen to keep up with Alabama weather, you'd also know that despite this being my "aesthetic", half of these things wouldn't even be seen where I live. (Although it did happen to snow on January the 7th.)

The main components of this board are long fuzzy socks, gingerbread, snow, and some calligraphy. Unsurprisingly all of it is cool toned in nature, but that's just what pleases my eye. Hope that you will enjoy this as much as I enjoyed making it.

row two (l to r) : rainy leaves via tumblr, calligraphy via pinterest, pencils via pinterest
row three (l to r) : sleep via pinterest, necklace via pinterest, cup of coffee via unsplash.com
None of these pictures are mine and all can be found on either pinterest or pexels. If you have a pinterest board (or a blog post sort of like mine) I'd love to check it out just link it down below.

What are you looking forward too in February?

I've decided to start a new blog series on my blog, to show you guys what I'm listening too. I will create picture collages and also insert my monthly spotify playlists so that you guys can listen if you're interested. I usually like to set my spotify playlist up in 3 month intervals so that I can look back and see what I was listening too during those months. (That's why my playlist is called "jauary - march") I also like to include my song favorites across the board instead of limiting it to one genre.
I defintely expect my playlist to expand as we get deeper into the year, and as soccer season truly starts back up since I usually listen to music when exercise.

Quick Disclaimer: Before we get into my thoughts I'd like to say that I've made the personal decision not to curse (and for the most part have not cursed at all). With that being said, you will probably realize that some of the songs on the playlist below are explicit (meaning they have curse words). I do not condone the language used in these songs, and usually choose to hear the clean version (but this version is not available, to my knowledge on spotify). Sorry for the inconvenience. Thanks for reading. :)

This past month I've been really into an alternate/r&b vibe with (a few) rap songs that I previously would've never listened to. At the same time though I feel like this playlist shows the flexibility of my song interests because you'll see a little bit of everything sprinkled throughout.

The Highlights

Panic! at the Disco

This month I've also found a new favorite band (who actually isn't new at all), Panic! at the Disco. I had already listened to a few of their songs in past years, but this month I became a "true fan". To put it in perspective they are coming to a city near me and now I plan on going!

Kehlani

I also became a major Kehlani fan. I love how smooth her voice is especially when she sings song like Distraction and Gangsta. The first time I heard her was when I listened to the Suicide Squad soundtrack and heard the song "Gangsta" which is amazing. The lyrics of her songs are so catchy and (sometimes) very relatable.

Ed Sheeran

The last notable artist that I have featured in this playlist is Ed Sheeran. Not only did he decide to come out of his social media hiatus, but he also released 2 brand new songs. Even though I've been an Ed Sheeran fan since "Fire Alarm" came out, his song "Shape of You" has quickly become one of my favorite songs. Don't hate me, but I personally don't like "Castle on the Hill", the lyrics remind me just a tiny bit of "7 Years" and just aren't as catchy as the story he tells in "Shape of You".

With that I leave you with a parting gif of Brenden Urie oh and my playlist! If you have any additional songs you think I should add to my current playlist feel free to add them down below in the comments. :)
